RePlayMe is a simple but very effective app that will give your listening comprehension a boost!Even with a good knowledge of English, it is very difficult to watch movies without subtitles.

And different than the other learning apps?We call our method “Listen First”.
Using it, you will slowly go through each story sentence by sentence.- First you have to listen to the sentence without seeing the words.
This is very important to train your listening comprehension.
Most similar apps display the text at the same time.
Your brain then always chooses the easiest way: reading the text.
Thats why watching films with subtitles doesnt work.- If you dont understand the sentence well, just listen to it several times!
Oftentimes you will be able to understand one or two more words.- Now you can uncover the words and check how well you understood them.
If you find it difficult to understand the sentence "blindly" even though you know all the words, then this app is exactly what you need!- There is a little "game" when uncovering the words so that it doesnt get too boring :-)- If you use the app for some time, you will gradually notice that you understand the sentences better and better.
Even before you uncover them.Besides the “Listen First” method, the app has other functions.
In contrast to other apps, we dont focus on quantity, but on quality.
The app doesnt have many stories yet, but they have a lot to offer.- All words are translated (to German and Spanish), as suitable as possible to the context (e.g.
the word "back" can mean in German: zurück, Rücken or Rückseite).
There are also many expressions that are translated, such as “what’s the matter?”.- You can add every word and every expression to a favorites list, which is your vocabulary.
The translations and audio sentences get saved, as well.
This means you always have an overview of your vocabulary and you can even jump directly to the original sentence in the story.- There is no beginner grammar (such as lists of past tenses), but there are many small infos on grammar topics that are different in German (gerunds, adverbs with "-ly", tag questions, ...)- In many places there are tips on correct or colloquial pronunciation.
For example, many native speakers “swallow” some sounds or word endings.
You can also use the app to record your own voice for each sentence and compare it with that of the native speaker.
